The Silvana String Quartet has been performing together as a quartet since 2017, but their members’ musical collaborations date back to 2010. Over the years, they have developed a unique musical synergy, especially through their dedication to performing the works of composer Mary Kouyoumdjian. In addition to their work as the Silvana String Quartet, its members have performed in various other cutting-edge ensembles, such as the Osso String Quartet, the experimental group Alarm Will Sound, the contemporary music collective Hotel Elefant, and the Harrisburg Symphony. Their wide-ranging experience across these ensembles has enriched their musicianship, allowing them to approach each performance with both technical precision and emotional depth. This diverse background has shaped their interpretation of both classical and contemporary works, with a special emphasis on the intersection of music and narrative.

"Just feet from Kachemak Bay where you can hear the wind, the seabirds, and taste  the salt in the air it's really a quite pleasure to hear Wild Shore New Music… It's terrific to see the way these young Alaskans return and liven their connections to place through music and by expanding our audience for new music.” - Asia Freeman, Executive/ Artistic Director at Bunnell Street Arts Center
